In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am, Ratmalana received 56.2mm of rain, while Colombo got 15.1mm, Galle 1.1mm and Kurunegala received 18.9mm of rain.

These rains occurred due to the cyclonic circulation over southwest parts of Sri Lanka and adjoining oceanic areas. This system is expected to persist over the region for the next 48 hours.

While remaining parts will have maximum temperatures between 32°C to 33°C.

During the next 48 hours, these rainfall conditions will persist over southwest parts of Sri Lanka. Thereafter dry weather conditions are expected to continue.
