As per Skymet Weather, the reason for this rain revival over the coastal parts of Odisha can be attributed to the well-marked low-pressure area that is presently seen over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh coast. Moreover, a trough is also extending from this system up to North Tamil Nadu coast.

Due to these weather systems, moderate to heavy rains lashed the state of Odisha. As of now, this system is likely to move further in the north and northeast direction due to which moderate to heavy with isolated very heavy rains are expected to continue along the coastal belt of the state. Interior Odisha is also expected to receive light to moderate rains however, the rain activity from South Odisha is likely to reduce.

These rains are likely to continue for the next 24-48 hours. Strong gusty winds may also affect the region. And the sky will remain mainly overcast. Drop in temperatures is also likely and the cool day will prevail.
