Madhya Pradesh has been receiving rain during the last 24 hours. In fact, good showers have been observed over many cities including Bhopal where 10 mm rain was received, Betul 8 mm, Gwalior 31 mm, guna 11 mm, Rewa 10 mm, Seoni 12 mm and Khajuraho 5mm.
As per Skymet Weather, the cyclonic circulation that is brewing over Odisha is expected to move in a westerly direction by tomorrow and will give good rain over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. The system is expected to result in some rains over East Madhya Pradesh and gradually it will cover the entire state.
In fact, heavy rains are likely over South east and adjoining south central parts of Madhya Pradesh, and cities like Hoshangabad, Betul, Balaghat, Seoni and Chhindwara will receive moderate to heavy showers.
So far, West Madhya Pradesh is rain deficient by 85% and East Madhya Pradesh by 47%. Normally by June 15, Monsoon covers most parts of Madhya Pradesh. Taking into account the intensity of rain, this year monsoon is expected to get delayed over the state by at least 4- 6 days.
June might end with deficient rain but rain will pick up pace considerably in the month of July and August and we expect above normal rain during this Monsoon season over Madhya Pradesh.
