The state of Madhya Pradesh has once again begun to witness good showers. In fact, the last 24 hours have been rainy enough for many parts of the city as well. So much so that some of these areas have also witnessed rainfall in three digits. In a nutshell, almost the entire state has been lashed with rains of varied intensity.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Jabalpur witnessed a whopping 102 mm of rainfall followed by Khajuraho with 79 mm of showers. Other areas to have witnessed some rains include Gwalior 23.7 mm, Umaria 8.3 mm, Rewa 11.2 mm, Indore 4.1 mm, and Betul 4 mm.

These rains have been attributed to the cyclonic circulation which was prevailing over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. The system has now shifted westwards and lies over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. With this, moisture incursion increased over the state of Madhya Pradesh resulting in rains of varied intensity.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rainfall activity is expected to continue over the state for the next 24 to 48 hours. Moderate to heavy rainfall will occur over many parts of the state. While one or two places may witness rainfall in three-digit rains, the possibility of flooding is ruled out over the state as rains will not be as intense.
Meanwhile, temperatures over these cities will also witness a drop and weather conditions will become pleasant.
