The month of July did not begin on a rainy note for the city of Hyderabad. The first day remained dry with isolated light rains following thereafter.

However, the last 24 hours were rainy enough for the Biryani City. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Hyderabad recorded a good 23 mm of rain.

These rains came in as a surprise for the residents who were witnessing humid conditions. Due to these rains over the city, there was a drop in the maximum temperature as well. While the city was recording its maximum temperature at 32 degrees, currently it stands at 30.2 degrees.

These rains have been attributed to the presence of localised weather activity over the region. Thunder clouds developed over Hyderabad during the late evening hours resulting in rainfall activity. As per weathermen at Skymet, during the next few days, Hyderabad will continue to witness on off light to moderate rains.

However, these rainfall activities will witness an increase around July 12 and 13. This will occur due to the development of a cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh region. The circulation will thereafter move towards the west in proximity of Telangana resulting in good rainfall activity over Hyderabad as well.

Thus, it is safe to say that the residents of Hyderabad will witness good rains during the next week. \Until then light showers will keep the humidity away.
