The state of Karnataka sees more rains during the Northeast Monsoon season as compared to the Southwest Monsoon. In fact, rainfall activity has begun in many areas of Karnataka before the beginning of the Northeast Monsoon itself.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Mangalore recorded a whopping 192 mm of rains, and Bengaluru saw moderate rains of 18.3 mm.
A Cyclonic Circulation is over Arabian Sea off Karnataka Coast and another circulation is over the Bay of Bengal, under whose influence a low pressure area is expected to form. A shear line will be joining these two system, which will pass through the state of Karnataka
South Interior Karnataka including Mysore, Mandya, Bengaluru, Hasan, Chamrajnagar etc. will be seeing good rains in the coming few days. The city of Bengaluru that has been seeing rains for the past few days will also continue to see some showers.
North Interior Karnataka will be seeing lesser rains as compared to its southern counterpart, however, some rainfall activity cannot be ruled out. Due to the system in the Arabian Sea, which is off the Karnataka Coast, coastal parts of the state are also likely to see good rains in the coming days.
