Good rains in Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur; heatwave abates

The state of Rajasthan has been witnessing a myriad of weather conditions for quite some time now. While some areas have been observing heatwave conditions for the last few days, there have been isolated dust storm, rain accompanied with hail storm and thunderstorm in a few areas.

Until a day before, many parts of the state of Rajasthan were reeling under heatwave conditions. The mercury was settling very close to the 45-degree mark. Almost the entire state was observing maximums above the normal levels.

However, rains did make an appearance over the state of Rajasthan with many cities recording good rains. The intensity of rains remained moderate in many parts with light rainfall in a few areas. With this, heatwave which was wreaking havoc over many parts of the state have abated from Rajasthan.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Ajmer received a whopping 29 mm of rainfall followed by Jodhpur where 26 mm of rainfall was observed. Other areas to have received good rains include Phalodi 24 mm, Bikaner 15 mm, Mount Abu 10 mm, Udaipur 10 mm, Bhilwara 8 mm, and Jaipur 6 mm. Traces of rain were also observed Jaisalmer and Barmer.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet, these weather activities are likely to continue today as well. The induced cyclonic circulation will continue to persist in proximity of the Rajasthan region. Tomorrow, the intensity will reduce however, isolated weather activity will continue over the region.

With this, the weather conditions will continue to be pleasant and warm weather will take a backseat from the region.
