Good rains forecast for Bihar and Jharkhand for next 3 to 4 days

During the last 24 hours, the rainfall activity has increased over both the states of Bihar and Jharkhand. Yesterday, Jharkhand managed to receive moderate rains at many places with isolated heavy rains. While eastern parts of Bihar have received moderate rains, the western parts of Bihar received rains of mainly light intensity.

In the last 24 hours, while Bhagalpur received 4.6 mm of rains, Farbesganj recorded 17.3 mm, Purnea 21.3 mm, Bokaro 7.6 mm, Jamshedpur 16.4 mm and Ranchi received 26.2 mm of rains.

The axis of Monsoon Trough has now become Active and is running from North Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal across Daltonganj, Bankura and Digha. The Trough line is likely to move towards and cover southern parts of Bihar during the next 24 hours.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation has formed over South Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal which may move towards North marginally. The rainfall activity is likely to intensify in many places over Jharkhand and Bihar during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Though southern parts of Jharkhand is receiving moderate spells during the last one week, but Bihar and adjoining parts of North Jharkhand remained mainly rain deficient.

The rain is likely to continue over the states during the next three to four days. Thus, the seasonal rainfall deficiency might get covered marginally. These rains are likely to turn out very beneficial for the farmers over both the states.
