Monsoon rains have been lashing the Madhya Pradesh from last many days. The variant shades of Monsoon rains in parts of Madhya Pradesh have started ever since the month of August began. Though July too ended on a rainy note for a few parts of the state. Good rains have occurred in parts of the state in the last 48 hours as well.
Within the span of the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Mandla recorded 39 mm of rains, Sagar 20 mm, Nowgong 16 mm, Pachmarhi 15 mm, Damoh 13 mm, and Rewa 6 mm, Gwalior 5 mm while Bhopal and Ujjain witnessed 3 mm of rains each.
The reason for these rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which was over northeast Madhya Pradesh. This was the reason Madhya Pradesh mainly the eastern districts of the state such as Rewa, Satna, Damoh, and Nowgong had recorded some good spells. While the districts in West Madhya Pradesh recorded light rains.

As of now also, rains are likely to continue over East Madhya Pradesh for another 2 days. For the next 24-48 hours, the regions such as Sagar, Damoh, Satna, Mandla, and Jabalpur may continue to receive moderate spells. While, the districts lying in the western region of the state such as Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Shajapur, Dewas, and Khandwa may get to see some light spells.
Thereafter, as the cyclonic circulation will move in a northwest direction towards Uttar Pradesh, rains will start reducing over East Madhya Pradesh as well.
