Monsoon rains have been showering upon the West Coast of India from last many days. Ever since the arrival of Southwest Monsoon, rains have been occurring along the west coastal districts in varied intensity. From light to moderate to heavy and extremely heavy, Monsoon rains have seen different shades of Monsoon.
Both Konkan and Goa as well as Coastal Karnataka witnessed heavy showers during the last few days of June. While coastal Kerala had to settle with a few light rain only. Though the situation changed and the last 24-48 hours were better for Coastal Kerala as compared with Konkan & Goa and Karnataka coast.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Harnai witnessed 61 mm of rains, Kannur 48 mm, Kochi 27 mm, Kozhikode 28 mm, Mangalore 16.7 mm, Dahanu 15 mm and Mumbai received 0.4 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, the trough along the West Coast has become feeble in nature and is running from Konkan & Goa to North of Karnataka. In the wake of this, rain activities along the coastal regions of West India are expected to reduce.

As the trough has weakened, hence, Konkan & Goa region is expected to witness moderate spells for the next 24 hours. The rain activity will reduce further over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala coast that is likely to witness light to moderate showers. On the contrary, Coastal Maharashtra is expected to receive light rains only.
