Good rains for Bhopal, Indore; Rewa, Satna braces for light showers

Madhya Pradesh was one of the most rainfall deficient states a few days back. However, soon the rains paced up and covered most parts of the state and on and off scattered rains occurred over parts of the state. Though the intensity of rains was mainly confined to southwest and southeastern districts of the state.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Nowgong recorded 42 mm of rains, Khargone 40 mm, Betul 19 mm, Pachmarhi 17 mm, Shajapur 11 mm, Guna 10 mm, Khandwa 8 mm, Ujjain 7 mm and Indore witnessed 4 mm of rains. However, Bhopal failed to record any rainy spells during the given time-frame.

As per Skymet Weather, Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Madhya Maharashtra are under the influence of a cyclonic circulation. This weather system was responsible for lashing parts of Southwest Madhya Pradesh with good rains.

Moreover, this system will continue to give moderate to the heavy spell of rain over southwest and southeast Madhya Pradesh in districts such as Khargone, Khandwa, Bhopal, Indore, Chhindwara, Pachmarhi, and Betul may witness moderate to heavy spells. On the contrary, northeastern and northwestern districts such as Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, and Ujjain may receive light to very light rains.

After 2 days, another cyclonic circulation which is over coastal Odisha will also move towards Madhya Pradesh and then many parts of the state will continue to witness good rains throughout the week.
