Southwest Monsoon has been kind to both the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Good monsoon rains have been lashing the state for quite some time now. The past few days have been even better for both these states.
Southwest Monsoon has officially come to an end. However, good rains refuse to take a backseat from the city. So much so that, a few areas have even been recording heavy rains in both these states.
These rains can be attributed to the upper air cyclonic circulation which is at present over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Vidarbha and Telangana. Due to this weather feature, moisture incursion has also increased over the Madhya Pradesh region.
The last 24 hours were no different and both the states have received good rains. In fact, in a span of 21 hours from 8:30 am on Friday and 5:30 am on Saturday, Jabalpur received 27 mm of rain, Bopal 24 mm, Gwalior 9 mm, Jagdalpur 22 mm, Indore 3 mm, and Satna 4 mm.
During the next 24 hours, both these states will continue to receive good rains. However, rains will reduce thereafter and both these regions will soon begin to witness reduced rainfall activity in the coming days.
