The state of Kerala had been observing almost dry weather conditions with light showers over some parts. However, good rains had been in hiding over God’s Own Country for a long time. The last 24 hours were also quite similar and only isolated rainfall was observed over many parts of the country. One or two places witnessed a few heavy showers.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Punalur recorded a whopping 39 mm of rain. Meanwhile, other areas witnessed light showers only with Kochi recording 0.4 mm of rain and Karipur seeing traces of rainfall.

Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is also seen over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining areas. Thus, due to the combination effect of these weather features, good showers are expected over the entire state.
These showers will be light to moderate in nature. Along with this, isolated places are also expected to witness a few heavy spells.
