During the last 24 hours, light rains were observed at many places in Gujarat, except for Kutch region. Also, a few regions recorded moderate rains.

At present, moderate to strong surge is prevailing along the coast. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Gujarat. Due to these systems, the moisture level is increasing over the state. Thus, light to moderate rains will continue at many parts of the state during the next 24 hours.

Places like Deesa, Patan, Surendranagar, Vaskantha, Navsari, Dang, Surat, Bhuj, Naliya, Surendranagar, Vadodra, etc. are likely to experience good rains during the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, the rain intensity will be increasing slightly over Kutch and Southern parts of the state. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation which is over Rajasthan is shifting Westwards. Hence, rain activity will be increasing over Saurashtra and Kutch during the next 24 hours as another system is approaching from the East. Hence, rainfall will be increasing over Eastern parts of Gujarat, July 30 onward.

These rains are very useful for seasonal cropping systems over the state. The Gujarat region is still running rain deficient by 29% till July 27, while Saurashtra and Kutch region is deficient by 55%. These upcoming rains are sure to capture the rain deficiency figures.
