The low pressure area which has developed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal Coast. As a result, the weathermen foresee its influence to be more over the states of Odisha and Jharkhand. But then, West Bengal will also relish some good rain and thundershowers for the next 24 hours, particularly Gangetic West Bengal.

In fact, there is possibility of some good rains to pound the city of joy, Kolkata as well.

After the course of 24 hours, the low pressure area is expected to move further towards the west, thus this movement of the system would result in plummet of rainfall activities over the state. However, we anticipate light to moderate showers to still keep its hold over West Bengal.

Maximum temperatures are likely to remain in comfortable zone in the lower 30s, however the coastal areas like Kolkata and Diamond Harbor may battle with warm and humid weather conditions.

As on August 13, the state of West Bengal stands rain deficit by 17%, which is likely to improve with these ongoing rains.
