The states of Odisha as well as Chhattisgarh have been witnessing good Monsoon spells since past many days. Light to moderate rains have occurred over many parts during the last 24 hours as well.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday,Raipurrecorded a whopping 74 mm of rain, followed by Bhubaneswar 30 mm, Bilaspur 28 mm, Sambalpur 24 mm,Cuttack22 mm, Jharsuguda 18 mm,Puri7 mm, Durg 4 mm, Angul 4 mm, Pendra 3 mm andBalasore3 mm.
These rains could be attributed to the cyclonic circulation that is marked over Chhattisgarh. Skymet Weather expects good rains to continue over Chhattisgarh, while adjoining parts of Odisha may record scattered showers for the next two days.

This weather system is likely to move towards Madhya Pradesh, but another fresh cyclonic circulation is expected to form over Odisha around August 27. With this, Odisha will again receive good rains from thereon. This light to moderate rains of short duration will continue till end of the month.
Chhattisgarh will also receive good rains in the remaining days of August and these rains will be due to back to back cyclonic circulations. In fact, these showers are anticipated to continue till the beginning of September.
Thus, we can say that the rain stats for both the states will improve by end of the month. As on August 24, Chhattisgarh is rain deficit by 11%, while Odisha by 7%.
The weather over Chhattisgarh will remain comfortable with day maximums settling around 31-33 degrees and minimums near 23-24 degrees.
On the other hand, Odisha will witness warm and humid weather with maximum temperatures in the range of 31-34 degrees and minimums near 23-26 degrees.
