Southwest Monsoon season has come to an end and the state of Maharashtra has ended this Monsoon season with a deficiency of about 8%. Region wise in Maharashtra Monsoon performance was as follows:
Konkan & Goa - 1%, Vidarbha - 8%, Madhya Maharashtra - 9%, and Marathwada - 22%.
During the last 24 hours, weather over the state of Maharashtra remained almost dry. However, scattered light to moderate rains occurred over few places.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Nasik recorded 23 mm of rain, followed by Pune 16 mm and Mahabaleshwar 11 mm.
Now since the last few days as rains have reduced, the day temperatures which were near normal have now become above normal by almost 4 degrees over many places.
Further also, we expect isolated light to moderate rainfall activity to continue over many parts of the state. Thereafter, the intensity may increase marginally, and rains will also be seen extending towards North Madhya Maharashtra and parts of Marathwada around October 4.
However, we do not expect any significant increase over Vidarbha region during this time. In fact, heavy showers will be ruled out over the entire state of Maharashtra during the coming days.
Moreover, temperatures over many parts of the state will be in mid-30s. Therefore, we expect warm and uneasy weather conditions during the day, but nights will be comfortable.
