As per Skymet Weather, these heavy rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is over East Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, a trough is also passing through Uttar Pradesh. This affected most parts of East Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh resulting in a heavy downpour.

As of now, this cyclonic circulation is likely to persist for another 24 hours. Therefore, good rains to continue over East Madhya Pradesh for next 24 hours. Thereafter, the trough is expected to shift towards foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar leading to decrease in rains over the state.
Rain belt will also shift towards the north. Thus, rains will reduce, heavy rains will be taken over by scattered light rain which will continue over East Madhya Pradesh and weather will seldom go completely dry.
