Hot weather conditions have been wreaking havoc over the state of Bihar. Many areas have been observing above normal maximums. While the region has not been observing heatwave conditions, days have become quite hot.
However, rain gods will now bestow some kindness over the state of Bihar. Good rainfall activity is expected over the region during the next 24 to 48 hours.
At present, a Cyclonic circulation persists over North Bihar and adjoining Sub Himalayan West Bengal. With this, moderate rains are likely over eastern parts of Bihar. Rainfall intensity is expected to be higher over some parts including the cities of Kishanganj, Supaul, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Khagaria, Madhepura, Purnia, Saharsa and Sahibganj.
During this time, lightning strikes are also possible over some areas of the state of Bihar. Isolated pockets of the state are also expected to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms along with squally winds. Rains are likely to occur over these areas between April 19 and 23. Around 22nd and 23rd April, some more districts of foothills of Bihar will receive rains.

Keeping the weather in view, farmers in Bihar are advised to speed up the harvesting and threshing activities as early as possible. Harvested crop should be properly tied to avoid being carried away by winds. Farmers should move the dried crops to safer places.
