Mumbai rains had remained on the backseat for quite some time now. In fact, the city had been seeing only light rainfall activity for a long time now. Moreover, the city had seen dry weather conditions for about three four days, before that also, rains were very light over the capital city of Maharashtra.
However, yesterday, Mumbai rains made an appearance once again resulting in heavy showers in several parts of the city. In fact, in the last 24 hours, Colaba observatory recorded a whopping 35 mm of rainfall, while Santa Cruz recorded 7 mm of moderate showers.
These rains have been attributed to the reversal of the winds from westerlies to easterlies over Mumbai due to the wind pattern changing over Gujarat and Rajasthan. Along with this, the extension of the cyclonic circulation over Coastal Karnataka and adjoining Karnataka have resulted in good rains over the city of Mumbai.
Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rains are expected to continue to remain patchy in nature and will persist for at least two more days. However, these rains will not be as intense as they were yesterday. In fact, not all the areas will be witnessing rainfall in Mumbai.
Temperatures which continue to be in the comfortable range will see a similar pattern in the coming days.
