Several parts of East and North India will continue to witness fairly widespread good Monsoon showers along with thundershower activities during next two to three days.
Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh will get moderate to heavy showers. While, few places such as Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and foothills of Bihar may record heavy to very heavy rainfall.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, this weather activity is on account of the low pressure area which was developed on August 26 over South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh Coast.
Presently, the system is marked over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining region and is moving at a very slow pace that will lead to prolong spell of rain. This activity will be further enhanced with the Monsoon trough passing through the foothills of Himalayas.
Both the regions have already been recording moderate to heavy showers during last 24 to 48 hours. Let us have a look at the rainfall figures recorded in the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday.
As on August 27, East and Northeast region of the country is in normal range at rain deficiency at 6 per cent. With this spell, we expect the rainfall figures to improve further.
