Good Monsoon rains to stay away from Bengaluru

The Southwest monsoon season has not been as great as it should have been for the city of Bengaluru. In the past one month, Bengaluru has only been able to record occasional light rains only. In fact, if the last ten days’ rain performance is to be evaluated, not even one day of double digit rain has been witnessed by the Garden City of India.

So much so that during the last 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Bengaluru recorded not even a trace of rainfall and remained dry as a bone.

The reason for lesser rainfall over Bengaluru can be attributed to the weakening of the off shore trough along the West Coast which is responsible for giving some moisture over the Silicon city.

Not only this, the winds have become westerly and are also dry in nature which means no cloud development over the city of Bengaluru. No significant weather system is also developing in the proximity of the capital city of Karnataka.

Thus, Bengaluru is expected to remain almost dry with the possibility of light rains on some occasion. The sky conditions will remain cloudy to overcast. As far as the temperature profile is concerned, the weather will remain pleasant and temperatures will remain below the normal levels.
