Good Monsoon rains to continue in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh

Central region of the country particularly, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, has been witnessing very good rainfall during the last few days and some heavy to very heavy rainfall has also been reported in these states.

At present Chhattisgarh is just 1 percent below its normal rains. Whereas on July 1, East Madhya Pradesh had observed a rain deficiency of 26 percent which had further reduced to 10 percent on July 3.

On the contrary, as on July 4, West Madhya Pradesh was rain surplus by 4 percent which increased to 10 percent on July 3.

During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, rainfall recorded in most pockets of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is displayed in the table below:

Furthermore, it is expected that Chhattisgarh and most of the parts of Madhya Pradesh will continue with heavy to very heavy rainfall for next 2 to 3 days. However, West Madhya Pradesh will receive relatively less rains.

Places of Madhya Pradesh like Ratlam, Jhabua, Ujjain, Dhar, Barwani and Khargone may receive light rainfall and some districts of North Madhya Pradesh such as Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, and Sheopur are also likely to receive light showers.

Rains were really less in the last two years and since 2014, country had been facing drought-like situation. Now it is expected that the Monsoon of 2016 will offer very good rainfall over these states and Monsoon is likely to conclude with above normal rains for Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
