As on August 26, the state, Andhra Pradesh is rain surplus. Likewise, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are rain both surplus regions by 18%a and 20%, respectively. Thus, a good amount of rainfall activities have been occurring over several districts of Andhra Pradesh. Also, Rayalaseema has been recording an excess amount of rain and thundershowers since last few days.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Kurnool 53 mm, Visakhapatnam 26 mm, Nellore and Vijayawada 15 mm, Kalingapatnam and Machilipatnam 11 mm, Cuddappah 8.3 mm and Kakinada 2.2 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a low pressure area which is seen South Odisha and South Chhattisgarh. Further, this system is likely to shift towards Vidarbha region. Due to this, Coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh will continue to see light to moderate rains during the next 24 hours.

Thus, several districts such as Nellore, Cuddappah, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Kurnool, Kalingapatnam and Machilipatnam will continue to see good Monsoon rains for the next few days.
