During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Vengurla has recorded a whopping 65 mm of rain followed by Harnai 55 mm, Honavar 38 mm, Mangalore 20 mm, Ratnagiri 27 mm, Honavar 38 mm, Karwar 10 mm, Cannur 16 mm, Kozhikode 10 mm, and Madikeri 10 mm.

These weather conditions have been attributed to the presence of a trough which is currently running along the West Coast. Also, a cyclonic circulation is over the Mumbai coast.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka and the Goa region during the next 24 to 48 hours. However, as far as Kerala is concerned, Monsoon rains will remain subdued over the state at least for the next 2 to 3 days.
