For now, we are expecting the rains to increase over many parts of Odisha and subsequently over Chhattisgarh that would witness light to moderate showers.
As per weather forecasters at Skymet Weather, the intensity of rainy showers will increase over both Odisha and Chhattisgarh by June 27. During that time, these states are most expected to record good showers as Monsoon would cover them entirely.
This intermittent rain show will go on over Odisha as well as Chhattisgarh until June 29. So, from June 27-29, we can expect few moderate spells, with one or two heavy showers over Odisha as well as Chhattisgarh including places like Paradip, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Angul, Durg, Mana, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur and Raipur.
Thereafter, the intensity of the rains may decrease, but the weather will not go absolutely dry and scattered showers will persist. With the rains, the mercury levels may also drop by two to three degrees Celsius over most parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
As of June 24, the rain deficiency in Odisha stands at 37% and Chhattisgarh at 8%, which is likely to improve in wake of the upcoming rainy spell.
