As of now both the regions of East and West Uttar Pradesh are enjoying the surplus rainfall figures. East Uttar Pradesh is 11% rainfall surplus whereas in comparison, West Uttar Pradesh is rainfall surplus by 13%. The story of these figures was much different at the start of the month; on July 1, East Uttar Pradesh was rainfall deficient by 28%, while West Uttar Pradesh was rain deficit by 16%.
We expect that scattered rainfall will continue over entire state of Uttar Pradesh as of now but some good spells are expected over West Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours. Places like Moradabad, Bareilly, Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor may get few good spells now but rain intensity will further increase from July 13 onwards.
Around that time, the axis of Monsoon tough which is now at south of Uttar Pradesh and running across Madhya Pradesh will move in northerly direction and give good rains over Uttar Pradesh.
From July 13 to 17, we expect light to moderate rain and few heavy spells at a few places will continue over many parts of Uttar Pradesh. That time both East and West Uttar Pradesh may reach in excess category of rainfall.
West and Central parts of Uttar Pradesh may receive one or two heavy rainy spells around July 15-16.
These rains will be very beneficial for the Kharif crops which are at present in dire need of weather god’s mercy. Though West Uttar Pradesh is well irrigated but these rainy spells will help the crops in a very good way.
