Chennai rains keep playing their same old games with rainfall activity being on the lower side at times while showers remaining heavy over some period of time. November 26 saw hefty rainfall activity lashing the capital city of Tamil Nadu. All thanks to the low pressure area which was persisting over Chennai.
In fact, hefty rains of three digit were also witnessed over some parts of Chennai during that period. However, these rains stayed hefty for a night only and rainfall activity took a backseat with light rains being observed over the region.

The low pressure which was giving rains over the region is currently over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Sri Lanka and the equatorial Indian Ocean. The weather system is expected to move westwards and gradually become insignificant.
Thus, light rains are expected to occur over Chennai during the next two days with the possibility of good showers ruled out. Not only this, on December 1 and 2, the weather over Chennai will become mainly dry.
However, on December 3, Chennai rains are expected to revive as a fresh weather system is expected to bring rains over the region. Until then, good showers will remain in the backseat over the Tamil Nadu capital.
