Summer heat has been on a constant rise over the central parts of the country. The state of Maharashtra is the recent sufferer wherein temperatures have constantly been witnessing a rise. In fact, maximum temperatures in some parts have even settled over the 40-degree mark.

Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra recorded its maximum at a whopping 41-degrees Celsius which happens to be eight degrees above the normal levels and also the highest of the season. Other parts of Maharashtra including Marathwada and Vidarbha have been reeling under scorching conditions as well.

Cities of Brahmapuri, Akola, Wardha, Solapur, and Parbhani have been the ones where mercury has either crossed the 40-degree mark or has been very close to it. Meanwhile, cities of Ahmednagar, Nagpur, Nanded, Nashik, Pune, Sangli, Satara, and Vengurla are observing maximums between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius. In fact, temperatures in Vengurla and Ahmednagar have settled 8 degrees above the normal levels.

Hot and dry weather conditions have been persisting in the entire state of Maharashtra. Moreover, hot northerly winds are also blowing over the region. Thus, the cumulative effect of the continuous dry weather has been manifested in terms of the rising maximums over the region.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, dry weather will continue over the state of Maharashtra with no rains in sight. Thus, the next few days may see some rise in the mercury levels only which will further add to the miseries of the Maharashtrians.

The regions of northern Maharashtra and Vidarbha are more prone to intense heat but scorching summer conditions will spread over to more pockets in the coming days adding to the discomfort. No relief is likely in sight for the state for now at least.
