The Western Himalayan region of the country has been observing on and off weather activity due to the approach of back to back western disturbances.

The last 24 hours was also slightly rainy for the hilly states of Northern India. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m on Sunday, Qazigund observed 30 mm of rain, Gulmarg 22 mm, Srinagar 13 mm, Shimla 5 mm and Manali 7 mm rains
These weather conditions are expected to intensify even further and light to moderate rainfall activity is expected over the state of Jammu and Kashmir Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today onward. One or two heavy spells cannot be ruled out over these regions.
Presently the Western disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir region. Due to this, during the rains are likely to continue during the next 24 to 36 hours.
Rain and thundershower with strong winds may occur at many places over Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahul & Spiti, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Anantnag, Badgam, Bandipore, Baramula, Doda, Ganderbal, Kathua, Kishtwar, Kulgam, Pulwama, Punch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Shupiyan, Srinagar, Udhampur, Pathankot, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi the Western Himalayas.
