Generally, Monsoon withdraws up to Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra and East Uttar Pradesh by October 1. This time, we have to wait a little longer for withdrawal of Monsoon from central parts due to the weather system brewing up in the Andaman Sea. Monsoon will withdraw from Central and East India only after the clearance of this system and its influence, by the second week of October.
Moreover, Peninsular India will continue to receive on and off showers. We should keep in mind that there is no clear divide between the withdrawal of Southwest and onset of Northeast Monsoon in this part of the country.
