After almost half of January passed as warm, now the shivering cold weather across North India is reaching up to Central India. Impact of the intense cold weather in North India can finally be seen in Central India. While temperatures were gradually taking a dip in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, they were pushed steeply towards 5°C or less than that in parts of Madhya Pradesh in last two days.
Due to freezing winds coming from snow-clad mountains of hills of North India, areas in Madhya Pradesh are witnessing extremely chilly nights and early mornings.
Icy cold winds from north and northwest dipped the minimum temperature of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh directly below 5°C in a span of 24-48 hours.
Delhi is already witnessing its lowest minimum for the season at 4°C. Several areas in Delhi also witnessed moderate to dense fog today morning.
Other cities in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh that are reeling under temperature below 5°C are:
Minimums in Rajasthan
Minimums in Haryana
Chilling winds blowing at a low speed have kept people wrapped in woolen clothes whole day. Clearly, people who were missing the winter chill are facing the harsh winter now.
Minimums in Uttar Pradesh
Minimums in Madhya Pradesh
The sudden dip in temperature and biting cold weather has thrown life out of gear. The harsh cold and dry weather is expected to last till 26th January after which slight relief is likely.
