The hills of North India are all set to see some rainy and snowy spells in the coming days. All thanks to a Western Disturbance which will approach the Western Himalayas by December 4. This system will result in snowfall activity over the hills as well as some rainfall activity and temperature change in the plains of North India.
These rain and snow activities will begin on December 4 over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh region. On December 5, these activities will cover the entire hilly region including Himachal Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand. On December 6, the remnants of the system will continue to give some weather activity over these areas and December 7 onward, clearance is expected. Snowfall will be mostly seen over the mid and the higher reaches, while lower reaches may see some rains.
During this period, foothills of Punjab and Haryana will also see some rains. Delhi also stands a chance of seeing some rainfall activity on December 5.
After the clearance of the system, coldwave conditions are expected over the hills of North India while significant temperature drop will be seen over the plains including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi as well as West Uttar Pradesh.
