North India is expecting fresh spell of rain and thundershowers during the next 24-48 hours. The hilly region will get rain on account of fresh Western Disturbance, while the plains will receive rain due to cyclonic circulation.

At present, the Western Disturbance is marked over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan. This will bring fairly widespread light to moderate rain and thundershowers over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during next 24 hours. While, Uttarakhand will receive isolated showers only.

On the other hand, its induced cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Punjab and adjoining Rajasthan. We can expect, scattered rain activity over Punjab and Haryana but the intensity of rain will be more over foothills.

Delhi-NCR could also see some passing showers and thunderstorm activities.

According to Skymet Weather, both the systems are likely to move away rapidly in east direction tomorrow. However, remnants of the system will continue to impact the weather over the entire region.

In wake of this activity, maximums have registered a significant drop over the hilly states and settling below normal. Plains have also witnessed a marginal drop in the maximum temperatures.

Day temperatures are likely to increase Friday onwards as the systems clear away from the region.
