A strong Western Disturbance is approaching Western Himalayas on night of December 4. This will be the first strong Western disturbance after October 24. Although during last 24 to 48 hours there was light rain and isolated snowfall over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, but the weather of Jammu Kashmir remained almost dry.
Light to moderate rain with few heavy spells of rain and snow are expected over Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on December 5th. Rain and snow will be light over Uttarakhand. Impact of this Western disturbance will continue until December 6th over Western Himalayas. Light rain with few moderate spells of rain is possible over Punjab, parts of Haryana, North West Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR.
Winds from North or Northwest will commence over northern plains from December 7. Icy cold winds travelling from snow clad mountains of Western Himalayas will drop the minimum temperature over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and NCR and parts of Madhya Pradesh. Cold wave conditions are possible over isolated pockets of Haryana and Rajasthan by December 8 or 9.
