As forecast by Skymet in its article on Monday, Bangalore received another spell of heavy rain. In a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, the city observed 37 mm of rain, pushing the rainfall figure for the month to 345 mm, which is double the October average of 161.7 mm. This figure is likely to increase further as there is forecast of more rain in Bangalore for the next 4-5 days. In view of the rainfall, maximums are recording about 3 degrees below normal of 29°C, while minimums are staying close to normal of 18°C. The temperature are going to prevail for another couple of days in the city. Though, Bangalore observes its bulk of rain during the Southwest Monsoon season, good amounts of rain can also be observed during the Northeast Monsoon due to its proximity with the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The first week of the month had brought some very good rain in Bangalore, with 15 mm being observed on October 6, 32 mm on October 7, 52 mm on October 8 and 63 mm on October 9. Thereafter a lull was observed for almost two weeks. But it again picked up towards the last week. The city witnessed a whopping 55 mm of rain on October 25 (Saturday) and 6 mm on October 26. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India light afternoon showers are expected in the city for the remaining days of the month.

Moderate rainfall is likely to occur over Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab between March 12th to 15th.
