With the rise in temperatures, Pre-Monsoon activities have commenced over many parts of the country. After a prolonged dry spell, pre monsoon activities will once again pick up over many parts of Northwest India also.
A fresh and comparatively strong Western Disturbance has approached Jammu and Kashmir and has induced a Cyclonic Circulation over Central Pakistan and western parts of Rajasthan. A trough is extending from Northwest Rajasthan to the Kutch region of Gujarat across western parts of Rajasthan. Due to this, rain and duststorm activities are expected over parts of Rajasthan today and tomorrow. On April 16, many parts of Rajasthan will receive patchy rain, thunderstorm, and dust storm.
Similarly, parts of Punjab and Haryana isolated a dust storm today and tomorrow. On April 16, patchy showers associated with dust storms may occur over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi as well as over west and central Uttar Pradesh.
The intensity of the monsoon activities may increase in the later part of April. May is the hottest month for most parts of the country including Northwest India. Therefore, strong to very strong pre-monsoon activities such as thunderstorm, dust storm, thundershowers accompanied with Hail usually occurs during the month of May. These pre-monsoon activities continue until mid-June. Thereafter, pre-monsoon rains merge with monsoon showers with the arrival of monsoon.
