In the last few days, intermittent rain and thundershower activities have been experienced in several parts of Punjab and Haryana due to the weather systems in the northern hills.

But the feeble Western Disturbance has now moved away, and the weather in the region will become dry today. The minimum temperatures will however drop by 2 degrees due to the flow of northwesterly winds.

By tomorrow another fresh Western Disturbance will approach the hills of north India. Thus, scattered rain and thundershowers will once again resume over parts of Punjab and Haryana on March 13.

Further on March 14, the intensity and spread of these weather activities will increase. During this time, we also expect few moderate spells of rain in these states. There are also chances of hailstorm activity in isolated pockets.

March 15 onwards, the Western Disturbance will start moving away eastwards but scattered rains will still be observed over some places in Punjab and Haryana.

Rain and thundershowers with gusty winds will occur over Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgrah Sahib, Fazila, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Muktsar, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Sangrur, Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar and Tarn Taran districts of Punjab from 13th 1800 hrs to 14th March. Hailstorm may occur in few isolated pockets of the state.

Thereafter, from March 16, the weather conditions will once again become dry and day temperatures will rise significantly.

The next weather system will approach the region around March 20. In the wake of this weather system, rains will again commence over Northwest India from March 21.
