Gujarat has been rain deficit ever since the beginning of the Southwest Monsoon season. Though on and off rains have been recorded but the western state has not been able to cover up the deficiency.
Now, a fresh spell of good Monsoon rains is approaching Coastal Gujarat, which could help in improving the situation up to some extent.
According to Skymet Weather, the low pressure area that is presently over North Coastal Karnataka is likely to move in west direction towards the central parts of the country.
With this, the shear zone over the region will also oscillate northwards. Both the systems coupled together will infuse fresh Monsoon surge along the West Coast including Coastal Gujarat.
In wake of this, we can see clouding over coastal parts of Gujarat from Wednesday itself, with chances of isolated light rai9ns over one or two places. Meanwhile, good Monsoon rains will begin from the evening of September 15.
The rainy spell is likely to continue till the next 2-3 days, wherein coastal parts could witness moderate rains with isolated heavy showers.
As on September 13, the cumulative rainfall deficiency for the Gujarat region stands at 28%, while Saurashtra and Kutch region is deficit by 19%.
