Fresh rains forecast for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana

A fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has not only induced rains over the hills but is also affecting the Northern Plains. We expect light scattered rains to commence over the Northern plains any time now.

These rains can be witnessed over the western parts of Punjab, Northwest Haryana, and Northwest Rajasthan by today afternoon. Gradually, these rains will spread and cover almost entire Northern Plains. By tonight, we expect these rains to increase over Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan. Delhi might also receive start receiving rains by tonight.

Tomorrow the rain activities will increase further and we expect moderate rains and thundershowers with isolated intense spells over Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Chances of hailstorm are also possible at a few places. By tomorrow, the western parts of Uttar Pradesh will also start receiving rains. The peak intensity of the weather activity will be seen on February 29.

By the morning of March 1, the rain activities will subside over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan.

By March 2, the weather activities will clear up from the entire Northwest India. This is when the weather will start clearing up from East and Central Uttar Pradesh as well.

We expect the maximum temperatures to subside by two to four degrees during this period. This decline of temperatures will be soon followed by a gradual increase soon after the rains subside.
