During the last 24 hours, mostly dry weather conditions prevailed over the state of West Bengal. However, soon the state is gearing up for some fresh rains.
Presently, a Western Disturbance is moving across western parts of Tibet and its associated induced upper air Trough is moving across central parts of the country. As both the above systems are moving in east-northeasterly direction hence, sub-Himalayan West Bengal is likely to be affected by rain and thundershowers as well as gusty winds.
These rainfall activities are likely to affect during the next 24 to 36 hours. Places like Kooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Baghdogra, Dinajpur, and Malda will be affected by these rains and thundershowers.
A significant fall in day temperatures is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining regions due to the occurrence of these rains.
Gangetic West Bengal, on the other hand, will remain dry with a partly cloudy sky. Day temperatures are likely to decrease slightly over these places as well.
After, the systems would have moved away after 36 to 48 hours, foggy conditions will appear over the region. Night temperatures will decrease significantly.
