Delhi woke up to some moderate showers to scare away the Monday morning blues. But these rains were extremely patchy in nature. Previously these fairly widespread good rains occurred over Delhi during July 13-18.
But thereafter the weather became warm and humid, making it uncomfortable for the residents. Though since last two days over the weekend, scattered or patchy rain did happen in isolated pockets of Delhi but these patchy rains failed to give any relief.
Earlier the axis of Monsoon trough was close to foothills of Himalayas but now this trough has shifted southwards, near Delhi. It is now running via SriGanganagar, Narnaul and towards Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
Also a cyclonic circulation is seen over West Madhya Pradesh. Along with a fresh Western Disturbance, this cyclonic circulation will enhance the rain activity over Delhi & NCR from July 26 onwards. Skymet Weather expects that there will be some very good rainy spells around July 26 which will last till the end of the month.
Few very heavy spells cannot be ruled out around July 27-28. This continued spell of good rain will be accompanied by cloudy to overcast sky and temperatures will also go down.
Though rainfall will not be continuous throughout the day but on & off rain can be expected to continue for next many days.
So to sum it up, good rain will bring relief to Delhi.
