A moving Western disturbance across Western Himalayas with association of induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining parts of west Uttar Pradesh has given widespread rain and snowfall over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Many districts of Himachal Pradesh such as Kinnaur, Lahul and Spiti, Kullu, Keylong and Chamba have recorded light to moderate snowfall. Rain and thundershower activities with isolated hailstorm was witnessed over Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur and Shimla.
Parts of Uttarakhand also recorded rain with snowfall. Places like Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Chamoli and Rudraprayag witnessed rain and snow. These rain activities will continue for another 24 hours over Himachal Pradesh, however, Uttarakhand may witness rain and isolated snowfall until March 22nd.
Weather will start clearing up over all the hilly States thereafter. Another Western disturbance will approach Western Himalayas by night of March 24. Once again, rain and snow to occur over many parts of Western Himalayas including Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. These weather activities make continue until March 26th.
