Last week, the hills of north India saw two back-to-back western disturbances giving good amount of rainfall as well as snow over the three states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand along with the Ladakh region.

The second system particularly resulted in good snowfall over both the higher as well as mid-reaches of the Western Himalayas where in the city's of Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam along with higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand did receive some rain and snow.

There has been a break since then, however things are all set to change for the hilly states very soon. By tomorrow night, a fresh western disturbance is expected to approach the western Himalayas which will largely affect the hills of North India.

Rainfall will be seen over the entire hilly states and snow may be seen over higher and mid reaches of the hills. This weather activity is expected to go on from tomorrow night until January 20. There is likely to be some rainfall activity over the foothills of Punjab and Haryana and there is a slight chance of Delhi recording some light rain on the night of January 19 as well.

Right after this system, another fresh western disturbance will approach the western Himalayas and the snow show is expected to continue.
