A fresh cyclonic circulation has formed in the lower levels over west-central Bay of Bengal. This weather system is likely to move in a northwest direction, towards north Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coast.
The Monsoon trough at present is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas. The cyclonic circulation over the Bay is expected to pull downthe eastern end of the Monsoon trough. A north-south trough is also likely to develop from North Bay to Central Bay of Bengal.
All these weather systems are expected to bring good Monsoon rains over Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh region.
The system has already given fairly widespread good rains along the Andhra Pradesh coast, during last 24 hours.
In Andhra Pradesh, Tuni has recorded 92 mm of rain. A little in the interiors, Hyderabad also received 47 mm on Monday. NorthTamil Nadu recorded light rainfall at many places withChennairecording 1.4 mm.
During last 24 hours, Mahisapat in Dhenkanal district of CoastalOdishareceived 46 mm whileParadiprecorded 18 mm.
These rainfall activities will continue for another 24 hours. Rainfall will reduce as the circulation moves inland, towards the interiors of Odisha.
