In the month of July and August, several Monsoon systems were confined to the west-central Bay of Bengal. However, during the past few weeks, these systems have developed in the North Bay of Bengal. At present, a low pressure area persists over Jharkhand.

A fresh cyclonic circulation has developed in west central Bay of Bengal. Now, the system is likely to give good monsoon rains over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The circulation will initially give moderate to heavy showers over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Thereafter as the system moves westwards, crossing the coast, the rain belt will cover the interior parts of rayalaseema and adjoining Telangana.

This fresh spell of rains hold great relevance for Telangana, which at present is witnessing rain deficiency of 7%. However, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are witnessing above normal rainfall by 3% and 6%, respectively.

Both the neighbouring states have been witnessing dry weather conditions for the last few days. Monsoon has been subdued over the most parts of the country.

Rains have been mainly confined to East and Northeast India during the last few days. In wake of this, the countrywide cumulative rainfall deficiency has further increased from 2% to 4%.
