Fresh low pressure area in Bay to revive Northeast Monsoon

November 21, 2017 11:57 AM | Skymet Weather Team

After remaining subdued for the last few days, Northeast Monsoon is all set to revive again. All thanks to the fresh weather system brewing in south Gulf of Thailand.

According to Skymet Weather, the low pressure area is most likely to move in westerly direction towards Andaman Sea by November 22 or 23.

With the long sea travel left for the low pressure area, chances of further intensification of the low pressure cannot be ruled. However, we have to wait and watch and closely follow the system for further development.

Initially, southern parts of the state would record moderate to heavy showers. However, by December 1-2, many parts of start would start recording moderate to heavy showers. As a result, Chennai may once again witness some flooding and traffic jams.

Meanwhile, intensity of rains over interior parts of Tamil Nadu would be comparatively less.
