Fresh low pressure area brewing in Bay of Bengal

It has been a while that any weather system has developed over Bay of Bengal. Now, a fresh cyclonic circulation has developed over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea.

The system has already given moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the last 24 hours.

Moreover under its influence, a low pressure area is expected to develop over the same region in span of 2-3 days.During this process, Andaman and Nicobar Islands will continue to record moderate to heavy showers for the next few days as well.

According to Skymet Weather, weather conditions are favourable for the system to further intensify into a depression also. But the system is expected to remain far away from the Indian coast to give any weather activity over the region.
Weather over Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh will remain unaffected and will continue with mainly dry weather.

It is most likely to travel in northwesterly direction and then will re-curve to north and northeast direction towards Myanmar coast and intensify further. Weathermen predict that the sea surface temperatures are still warm. Hence, system’s intensification into a cyclone cannot be ruled out but we need to wait and watch.
