According to the latest weather update by Skymet’s Meteorological Division in India, there isn't any change expected in the weather in South India in the coming days. However, some rain expected in between may change the mood a little.

“It is pre-monsoon season in Kerala and the South, so we are expecting rain in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. A couple of weeks back Thiruvananthapuram had received some good showers and this week too, there are chances of rain in the city and adjoining. Thundershowers will mostly affect the southern tip of South India, covering places like Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu as well”, said G.P Sharma of Skymet’s Meteorological Division.

Rain/thundershowers are expected to occur on the 18th and could last for a couple of days. Sky will turn cloudy and winds could be stronger along the coast. Moreover, showers could be sporadic with some spot moderate rainfall in isolated pockets.

The last time Kerala received pre-monsoon showers was on the 3rd and 7th of March when Thiruvanathapuram recorded 30 mm and 0.1 mm of rain respectively. Tiruchirapalli on the other hand has recorded only 0.6 mm of rain till now in the month of March.

Maximum and minimum temperatures in Thiruvanthapuram have been constantly recording around 33⁰C to 34⁰C and 22⁰C to 24⁰C respectively.
