At present, contrasting weather is prevailing in parts of Rajasthan. On one hand, where the western and northern parts of the state have observed dry and hot weather conditions along with heat wave, on the other, the southeastern parts have experienced light to moderate rain and thundershowers, during the last 24 hours. These rains were a result of a Cyclonic Circulation over South Rajasthan.
According to Skymet Weather, with the Western Disturbance moving across the higher latitudes, even the northern parts of Rajasthan that have remained mostly dry so far, will get to see rains now. This system would give dust storm and short spell of thundershowers along with strong winds over the northern areas, while rains over the southeastern parts of the state would be a result of moist winds from the Arabian Sea as well as from the Bay of Bengal.
Places like Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Jaipur and Ajmer will experience light rain and thundershower activities, while other places like Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Pilani, Alwar and Bikaner may observe dust storm followed by light showers during the next three to four days. Despite light rains, heat wave like conditions would persist in pockets of Northwest Rajasthan such as Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu during the next few days.
According to our meteorologists, Southwest Monsoon 2019 is likely to progress in extreme southwestern parts of Rajasthan after two to three days. This will happen because the Low-Pressure Area, formed over Northeast Bay of Bengal would start moving west/northwestwards, thus giving more rains in Rajasthan.
